Alvin has got a new toy, so i am inheriting his old one. Just got it fixed today 'coz the hardisk and motherboard was somehow 'spoilt' before Alvin handed it to me. Then soon i found a crack on the lid of the laptop. =.='

Congrats on your Compaq Evo N1020V! I have one, too! In fact I bought a non-working unit from EBay and had its hardware problem fixed in Manhattan (turned out ot be the LCD Inverter) and bought my two 512MB RAM memory pieces and am into the 11th day of loading operating system and software on it.
And the Spyware!!!! I hope that you are cautious and have used anti-Spyware programs, especially the freebies like Spybot Search and Destroy and Spyblaster!
Are you stricken with the 960MB RAM? I am and I am looking for newer Bios so that my machine will display a full 1GB of RAM in Device Manager.

I bought my Compaq EVO N1020V in early February 2006 and its refurbishing has been a nifty "phoenix rising from ashes" no pun given the Chipset!
